Underscoring the broad appeal of racing’s premier events, equibase.com hosted a record 1,480,161 cumulative visitors on the three days that comprised the 2011 Triple Crown.
The total is 11.6 percent above the previous record set in 2009 when the site served 1,325,930 cumulative visitors on the corresponding days.
“More than 170,000 fans visit equibase.com on a daily basis but that number increases dramatically at this time of the year as new and veteran customers alike visit the site for past performances, program changes, results and other information about the Triple Crown races,” said Equibase’s manager of eBusiness operations and development, Chris Dawahare.
equibase.com features a comprehensive menu of free entries, results, historical race charts, and program changes and scratches as well as Stats Central and a variety of premium handicapping products. The recently redesigned site also includes convenient links to featured Equibase Racing Yearbook™ races, where customers can access entries, editorial, result charts and video replays for each week’s graded stakes races.
