Among the major regions, Central and South America accounted for 37.1% of total exports in 2009, up from 22.0% in 2004. This is the region’s largest percentage share of exports since 1992. Meanwhile, exports to Europe declined from 43.6% of total exports in 2004 to 30.8% in 2009, while exports to the Pacific Rim slipped from 21.1% to 15.8% of total exports during this time.
