Horse racing is popular worldwide, and among the countries that reported 2011 figures to the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities, the U.S. is the world leader in terms of stallions, mares, foals registered, races run, starters and starts. Worldwide statistics, including racing, breeding and prize monies, are collected through an annual statistical survey from International Federation of Horseracing Authorities' member organizations: analysis of racing statistics.
In addition, within the Facts & Figures section of the International Federation of Horseracing Authorities website, you can search for worldwide statistics by country or by year. Information includes betting, breeding and financial statistics.
