equibase.com Hosts Record 251,649 Visitors on Kentucky Derby Day

Equibase Company LLC reports that equibase.com, the website for the industry’s Official database for racing information, hosted a record 251,649 visitors on Kentucky Derby Day, May 6. Including visitors on Kentucky Oaks Day, May 5, the site hosted 443,399 Internet users over the two-day period.

“The record traffic on equibase.com the days of the Kentucky Oaks and Kentucky Derby reaffirms the popularity of horse racing and its major events,” said Hank Zeitlin, executive vice president and COO of Equibase. “It also reinforces the site’s ability to deliver convenient, accurate and timely racing information to casual and veteran fans worldwide.

“We were especially pleased by the significant increase in sales of online race programs, which were redesigned last month to include interactive elements and additional statistical analysis to further assist handicappers in their selection process.”

equibase.com provides a comprehensive array of racing information, including programs, entries and result charts, as well as a full line of products for handicappers of every skill level. The site is also home to Virtual StableTM, which provides e-mail notification of entry, result and workout information for horses that fans want to follow. Virtual Stable also offers seasonal “race series” notifications, a once-daily report of activity for contenders for the Triple Crown races and the Breeders’ Cup World Championships.
