The Jockey Club Names Barillaro Executive VP and Chief Financial Officer

Laura Barillaro, who has served as vice president and controller for The Jockey Club since 1995, has been named executive vice president and chief financial officer, it was announced today by Ogden Mills Phipps, the chairman of The Jockey Club.

Her appointment was formally approved during a meeting of The Jockey Club’s Board of Stewards in Dallas last week. Barillaro will report to Alan Marzelli, the president and chief operating officer of The Jockey Club.

“In the course of the past 10 years, Laura has adeptly supervised a wide range of financial activities for The Jockey Club and its family of companies,” Marzelli said. “She understands the daily operations of each and every one of our companies and her appointment as an officer of The Jockey Club recognizes both her financial management skills and her dedication to serving the needs of the Thoroughbred industry.”

Barillaro, a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, is a graduate of Fordham University, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Public Accounting and a Masters degree in Media Communications.

Prior to joining The Jockey Club staff, she spent almost eight years with the international accounting firm Ernst & Young in New York.
