August 1 Deadline for Filing Stallion Reports of Mares Bred

The Jockey Club reminds stallion owners that all Reports of Mares Bred (RMB’s) should be submitted on or before Sunday, Aug. 1.

This is the first step in the registration process for foals of 2005 and timely submission of RMB’s has a direct bearing on the subsequent issue of Service Certificates.

Service Certificates typically are issued by early September to stallion owners who have mailed their RMB’s on time. Stallion owners can expect to receive their Service Certificates even sooner if they file their RMB’s online using The Jockey Club’s Interactive RegistrationTM (IR), which eliminates several of the manual processing steps that can affect turnaround time.

“More and more farms are taking advantage of the time and resource savings of the Internet by using IR to submit their RMB’s and other registration requirements,” said Matt Iuliano, The Jockey Club’s vice president of registration services. “In fact, nearly 60 percent of the more than 60,000 mares bred in North America in 2003 were reported by farms through IR.”

The Interactive RegistrationTM program is available at no charge through www.registry.jockeyclub.com. A user ID and password are required and can be obtained by signing up on the web site or by calling the Registry at (800) 444-8521 or (859) 224-2700.

Otherwise, completed RMB’s should be mailed to The Jockey Club, 821 Corporate Drive, Lexington, KY 40503-2794.
