Equibase Launches Wireless Version of equibase.com for Mobile Web Market

Equibase Company LLC is now serving the racing information needs of the burgeoning mobile web market with today’s launch of a condensed version of equibase.com for wireless devices.

Developed with the assistance of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, equibase.com Wireless allows mobile web users to access entries, results, scratches and carryover pools each day for every track in North America.

“The launch of equibase.com Wireless is an important step toward expanding racing’s presence in the mobile communications market,” said Hank Zeitlin, executive vice president and chief operating officer for Equibase. “More and more people are utilizing Palms, BlackBerrys and other handheld devices to access news headlines, stock quotes and other information while on the go. Now, in addition, they have access to racing information for any and all tracks in North America.

“Capitalizing on this convergence of information and wireless technology provides us with yet another opportunity to make timely and essential racing information as widely available and convenient as possible,” he added. “There is no need to remember two different Internet addresses, one for wireless and another for a PC. The Equibase servers will automatically detect whether a user is accessing equibase.com from a wireless device or a PC and format the information appropriately.”

To access equibase.com Wireless, simply go to equibase.com on any wireless Internet-enabled handheld device.
