Equibase Management Committee Names Wilson President and Chief Operating Officer

Jason G. Wilson has been named president and chief operating officer of Equibase Company LLC by the Equibase Management Committee, effective immediately. He succeeds Hank Zeitlin, who announced plans to step down from that position in December.

“Jason brings to this position an exceptional mix of industry knowledge, business acumen and strong relationships with track managers throughout the country, and the Equibase Management Committee believes that he is well-suited to bring the entity to even greater heights as it serves the industry in the months and years ahead,” said Ian D. Highet, chairman of Equibase Company.

Wilson was hired as The Jockey Club’s vice president of business development in October 2010. He was later promoted to president of TJC Media Ventures, a subsidiary of The Jockey Club that was created to carry out recommendations put forth in a comprehensive economic study of Thoroughbred breeding and racing commissioned by The Jockey Club and conducted by McKinsey & Company.

“Equibase is often cited as a shining example of industry collaboration, and I look forward to working with our track partners to further ensure the collection and distribution of accurate racing data to all of our customers on a variety of platforms,” Wilson said. “I am honored that the Equibase Management Committee has chosen me to lead the talented team at Equibase.”

Wilson received an A.B. degree in political economy from Princeton University, a J.D. degree from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law, and an M.B.A. in finance and management from Columbia University.

He spent three years as the assistant general counsel for SoftNet Systems Inc. / Aerzone Corporation in San Francisco. He later served as an associate in the Healthcare Investment Banking group of Deutsche Bank Securities and as vice president in the Real Estate, Gaming, and Lodging Investment Banking group of Banc of America Securities, both in New York City.

Wilson is a native of Westchester County, N.Y., and he and his wife, Michelle, have two children (Blake and Parker).
