Registration Still Open for Thoroughbred Owner Conference

OwnerView is still accepting registrations for its fourth Thoroughbred Owner Conference, which is scheduled for Monday, October 30, through Wednesday, November 1, in Del Mar, California, immediately preceding the Breeders’ Cup World Championships at Del Mar Thoroughbred Club.

A limited number of reserved seats are available for the Breeders’ Cup races on both Friday, November 3, and Saturday, November 4, to those attending the conference and are included with the full registration fee on a first-come, first-served basis.

The conference will be held at the Hilton San Diego/Del Mar and is being hosted by OwnerView and BloodHorse. Returning sponsors include Bessemer Trust, Breeders’ Cup, Coolmore America, Daily Racing Form, Fasig-Tipton, Longines, National Horsemen’s Benevolent and Protective Association, New York Thoroughbred Breeders, OCD Pellets, Stoll Keenon Ogden PLLC, Stonestreet Farms, and Thoroughbred Daily News.

The Thoroughbred Owner Conference is designed to educate, inform, and entertain new, prospective, and current Thoroughbred owners through a series of panels and social events. The conference’s keynote address will be delivered by Jeff Fager, the award-winning executive producer of CBS News’ “60 Minutes” and a Thoroughbred owner.

Besides having access to multiple panels and presentations about racehorse ownership led by industry experts, attendees will be welcome to attend the draws for the Breeders’ Cup Classic and Distaff, a trackside breakfast, an afternoon at the races, and a dinner featuring guest speaker Laura Hillenbrand, the author of Seabiscuit: An American Legend and Unbroken.

Conference details, including the complete schedule of events, registration forms, host hotel information, and other tourism tips are available at ownerview.com.

Registrations are available for the full conference, and a social-events-only registration is available to spouses or partners of attendees. Both types of registration include Breeders’ Cup tickets.

OwnerView is a joint effort spearheaded by The Jockey Club and the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association to encourage ownership of Thoroughbreds and provide accurate information on trainers, public racing syndicates, the process of purchasing and owning a Thoroughbred, racehorse retirement, and owner licensing.

The need for a central resource to encourage Thoroughbred ownership was identified in the comprehensive economic study of the sport that was commissioned by The Jockey Club and conducted by McKinsey & Company in 2011. The OwnerView website was launched in May 2012.
