Churchill's Iuliano Appointed Jockey Club VP of Registration Services

The Jockey Club has announced the appointment of Matt Iuliano as vice president, registration services.

Iuliano, who has served in several management capacities at Churchill Downs, including his current position as chief operating officer of the company’s majority-owned television broadcasting subsidiary, Charlson Broadcast Technologies, will assume his new post on June 29.

Making the announcement, Jockey Club executive vice president and executive director, Gary Carpenter, said Iuliano’s extensive background in track and farm management will help facilitate the implementation of ongoing and future Jockey Club initiatives.

“Matt’s ability to bring people together to devise strategies and implement solutions will be a valuable asset in our drive to maximize use of technological and scientific resources to streamline internal operations and enhance service to all owners and breeders,” he said. “We are very fortunate and excited to have on board someone with his track record of success, both as a farm operator and as an executive for a dynamic gaming enterprise.”

Iuliano, 42, joined Churchill Downs in 1989 as a financial analyst in which he assessed the financial impact of potential acquisitions, strategic partnerships and legislative initiatives. In 1996, he created a new Information Technology department, for which he served as director and vice president, to integrate emerging data and voice technology into Churchill’s operations. He was promoted to COO of Charlson Broadcast Technologies in 1999.

Prior to joining Churchill Downs, Iuliano spent seven years as director and operations manager of Lasma East, the largest and most recognized Arabian horse farm at the time, in LaGrange, Kentucky. He received a BS in Agriculture and MS in Physiology and Biophysics from Colorado State University before earning an MBA and JD from the University of Louisville.
