Duncker Named to Equibase Management Committee

C. Steven Duncker, a managing director at the investment banking and securities firm Goldman Sachs, has been appointed to serve on the Management Committee of Equibase Company LLC, it was announced today by Equibase Company Chairman Alan Marzelli.

Duncker fills the seat vacated upon the retirement of Jockey Club representative Allan R. Dragone.

“Like Allan Dragone, Steve brings a passion for Thoroughbred racing and a comprehensive array of business skills to our organization,” said Marzelli. “He is an exceptional addition to our Management Committee and I’m sure his involvement will benefit us in many ways.”

Duncker has been a Thoroughbred owner since he was 17 years old and has campaigned stakes winners Middlesex Drive and Danville.

He received a degree in economics from Duke University and an MBA from Northwestern University.

A member of The Jockey Club, he also serves on the boards of trustees of the New York Racing Association, the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association (TOBA), The Jockey Club Information Systems, Inc. (TJCIS) and The Jockey Club Foundation.

The Equibase Management Committee is comprised of 12 members: each of the Company’s two general partners appoints six representatives.

The TRA representatives are Craig R. Fravel, Martin Jacobs, Bryan Krantz, Terry Meyocks, Scott A. Mordell and John C. York II.

Besides Marzelli, The Jockey Club representatives are Sherwood C. Chillingworth, Steve Duncker, Nick Nicholson, Ogden Mills Phipps and Hans J. Stahl.

Chris Scherf, executive vice president of the TRA, serves as the Company’s Secretary.

Equibase Company LLC is a partnership of The Jockey Club and the TRA and serves as the Thoroughbred industry’s Official database for racing information and statistics. The Equibase web site (www.equibase.com) offers an ever-increasing menu of racing information and handicapping products for handicappers of all skill levels.
