Renowned Artist Richard Stone Reeves Again Supports the Health of Horses

Richard Stone Reeves, described in the New York Times as the “George Stubbs” of modern equine artists, is designating a portion of the proceeds from his most recent edition of fine art lithographs entitled “Mr. Prospector” to the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. What Mr. Reeves termed as “a substantial percentage” will be donated to the leading private source for equine veterinary research.

Mr. Prospector was one of the leading sires of the 20th Century and his influence continues to be felt through his many sons, daughters and succeeding generations both here and abroad. Mr. Reeves chose to portray Mr. Prospector in his paddock at Claiborne Farm for this fine art limited edition. Each lithograph has been personally signed and numbered by Mr. Reeves. There are only 350 lithographs in this edition. The printing plates have been destroyed and no other lithographs or any likeness thereof will ever be made again.

The lithographs are available for $398.00 in the United States and $430.00 outside the U.S. which includes shipping, handling and insurance.

Like the 18th Century’s Stubbs, Mr. Reeves has long been recognized as one of the foremost artists of his generation as he has been privately commissioned by distinguished horse owners and breeders the world over.

“This is not the first time Mr. Reeves has directed his enormous talents to the benefit of equine research,” recalled Edward L. Bowen, President of the Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation. “He donated his personal royalties from one of his handsome books, Royal Blood, to our foundation. He obviously appreciates the horse and our dedication to equine research. We are honored by this additional contribution.”

The Grayson-Jockey Club Research Foundation has contributed more than $9.5 million to 31 universities to fund 181 specific research projects in the last two decades.

Mr. Prospector lithographs are available via VISA, MasterCard or personal check from The Racing Scene Gallery, P.O. Box 736, Far Hills, NJ 07931. Telephone (908) 766-9296 or e-mail lbreeves@worldnet.att.net
