Mudd Named to Equibase Management Committee

William “Bill” E. Mudd, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Churchill Downs, Inc., has been appointed by the Thoroughbred Racing Associations of North America (TRA) to the Equibase Company LLC Management Committee, it was announced today by Equibase Chairman Alan Marzelli.

Mudd replaces Steve Sexton, who served as a member of the committee from 2003 to 2005 and again from December 2006 until August 2008. Other members of the committee are Peter Berube, Craig Fravel, Hal Handel, Jim McAlpine and Mike Weiss representing the TRA; and Sherwood Chillingworth, C. Steven Duncker, James L. Gagliano, Alan Marzelli, Nick Nicholson and Ogden Mills Phipps representing The Jockey Club.

“We look forward to Bill’s involvement with the committee,” Marzelli said, “and we certainly thank Steve for his contributions and the industry experience and knowledge he brought to the committee over these past several years.”

A native of Marion County, Ky., Mudd joined the management team at Churchill Downs, Inc. in 2007 after 15 years with General Electric Company. He started his career with GE in 1992 and subsequently held several executive positions there. He left the company as Global Commercial CFO at GE Water & Process Technologies, a water process and filtration business based in Trevose, Pa.

In other news, Equibase also announced it is distributing a second $1.2 million dividend in 2008, bringing the total amount of dividends distributed to Equibase’s partners since 1998 to $23.4 million.
